4. South Place Hotel
South Place Hotel is a trendy dog-friendly hotel in fashionable East London that welcomes the four pawed variety to stay in all of its luxurious rooms. Each room is fitted with a 40″ Bang & Olufsen TV with over 40 channels and complimentary cinema, Hypnos mattresses, marble bathroom with James Heeley’s ‘St Clements’ bath products and Josephine Home percale cotton bedlinen – and to make sure family pets have as much fun as their owners, rooms are also furnished with king-sized dog beds, a welcome gift, food bowls and a local dog guide.
You can also dine with your dog in the bar and in the Secret Garden – open to the elements in summer, sheltered in winter, or you can leave your dog in the room or the concierge will look after them while you eat.
The South Place Hotel hosts regular ‘Sip & Snuggle’ movie nights in the Secret Garden, where dogs of all shapes and sizes (and their owners) can cosy up on the heated terrace and enjoy classic films with a warming tipple in hand. Originally opened as Bethnal Green’s Town Hall in 1910, during the height of Edwardian architecture, this imposing building has undergone a superbly sensitive and stylish renovation. The Town Hall Hotel now houses just under 100 rooms, many of which are apartments and suites, so you and your faithful friend won’t feel the least bit cramped, plus the indoor pool is a surprising bonus!
For those who want access to central London while avoiding the hustle bustle, the trendy Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green is an obvious choice. 6. The Athenaeum
The Athenaeum is the epitome of Britishness – discreet, personal, friendly and slightly quirky. Having played host to the likes of Renee Zellweger, Natalie Portman and Mick Jagger, the 5 star Athenaeum Hotel is a boutique gem situated just a short walk from Buckingham Palace. 7. St Pancras Renaissance Hotel
Is there a hotel as rich in history and as gloriously grand as the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in Kings Cross? Originally opened in 1873 as the Midland Grand and designed by Victorian architect George Gilbert, the hotel was re-opened in 2011 after a decade of pain-staking restoration. The Grade I listed building is now resplendent in it’s original gothic beauty and totally breath taking both inside and out.

Not only do the suites retain their original charm with high ceilings, ornate mouldings and expansive windows, but you will also have a Butler on hand to cater to your every whim. If you’re able to tear yourself away from your luxurious room for a moment, you can enjoy a treatment in their St Pancras Spa where you can take a dip in their complete Victorian tiled indoor pool or sip a cocktail in their decadent Booking Office bar and restaurant.
