Pronunciation (hue-guh)

  1. A quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).

If there’s one thing we love the most about autumn, it’s embracing the opportunity to get as cosy as possible. Typically, we spend more time in our homes during the colder seasons, so making it a haven of comfort is a goal that many aim for. And as cat owners, we’re keen to do the same for our furry companions.

Hygge is all about enjoying the simplicity of life’s pleasures. It could be curling up on the sofa with a warm blanket with your feline friend at your side, or popping on a pair of fluffy socks that instantly make you smile. Creating this atmosphere of comfort and warmth allows our minds to focus on good and find happiness in the small things. And of course, togetherness is a big concept of hygge too, placing emphasis on spending time with the people (and animals) we love. Therefore, there’s no doubt about it… hygge is totally cat-friendly and we are big fans of that for sure!

Thankfully, giving your home a hygge update is much easier than you might think. Here’s just a few of our favourite ways to cosy up your home for autumn, which your cat will definitely thank you for.
