It’s safe to say that Bull Terriers having a ‘moment’. First Marc Jacob’s dog Neville won us over with his escapades as New York’s hippest fashion hound, and now Brazilian artist Rafael Mantesso and his adorable bully Jimmy (err Choo) have collaborated with his namesake to launch Choo Hound – a capsule collection of leather accessories.
Mantesso captured the attention of dog lovers all over the world last year when his playful illustrations of Jimmy went viral across instagram and the internet. The artist starting drawing again following a divorce. Left with nothing but empty rooms and his beloved Bull Terrier, he began using the blank walls of his apartment as his canvas and (a very obedient) Jimmy as his muse. Who could blame him with that face!?
Jimmy Choo Creative Director Sandra Choi was so enchanted by Mantesso’s illustrations that she approached him directly to create a series of fun, tongue in cheek drawings of Jimmy to decorate a capsule collection of leather accessories.
The Pre-Fall 2015 collection includes tote bags, purses, cosmetic bags and iphone cases. Also launched are some seriously special leather dog collars in mirrored silver and white with chunky gold cube studs. Both come with Jimmy Choo charms and tags.
