KICKSTARTER: Cool Cat Caravans by Make them Roar

We love prowling around on Kickstarter for fun new pet projects, and we liked this one so much we wanted to share it with you. The Cat Caravan is a stylish and sturdy playhouse, created by Bettina Frohn, the East London-based blogger behind one of our favourite cat blogs – Make them Roar.

Bettina and her friend Merle came up with the idea for the Cat Caravan after watching how their own cats play. “Cats love cardboard boxes. To our cats a box is a secure space for undisturbed playing and napping. Tired of using shabby old boxes, we built them a cardboard den that encourages play and also looks neat in our home,” she says.

Strong enough for even the rowdiest of cats, the Cat Caravan is made from 100% recycled cardboard, with two levels for perching and playing, as well as lots of peep holes.”There are plenty cardboard box houses for cats out there, but I wanted to create a real toy that cats can play and interact with. The caravan is a durable playbox with a clean graphic design that is a magnet for the feline explorer instinct,” says Bettina.

Bettina launched her blog after moving to London and being given her cat Mr Spats. “I had to furnish my home with new cat things and I spotted fancy furniture online that I didn’t know existed! I started to write about my first purchase – the amazing Hicat climber. Since then, my second cat Gereral Teddington has moved in and shaken things up a little, and today I publish a new cat story every week on the blog.”
