From the sublime to the RIDONKULOUS, photographer Paul Nathan sniffs out gloriously (and garishly) groomed dogs in his new book.
Let us begin by saying that the trend for extreme ‘creative’ grooming is quite frankly BONKERS, but that hasn’t stopped the world from becoming a little bit obsessed with it. Surely our dog-loving ancestors would be kicking themselves (from beyond the grave) for never having dreamt up the idea of grooming a dog to resemble a Panda or a poodle made to look like a cube?
In his latest book, Groomed, photographer Paul Nathan stalks the globe in search of the most extreme and exquisite examples of canine coiffeur. From the most luscious locks and precision cuts, to the more recent trend for ‘creative grooming’, where dogs are dyed, clipped, braided and twizzled into some seriously outrageous looks, Nathan follows (mentally questionable) owners and hopeful hounds they battle it out for glory.
If nothing else, it will be a talking point on your coffee table!
Groomed is published by Pelluceo and is available from Amazon
