TRAINING: Teach Dogs to Take Selfies & Paint with iPad Masterclass in Shoreditch

Modern mutts can get their fill of four-legged tech fun at City Dog’s new iPad Masterclass in Shoreditch.

If the thought of signing every weekend away on classic agility and training courses seems like a doggone drag, City Dog’s series of cool one-off 90 minute Masterclasses are just the ticket for the modern mutt.

Launching on the 15th March at Studio Spaces in Shoreditch, the series of one-off 90 minute masterclass sessions will teach dogs cool tricks on the iPad like taking selfies and painting. And cool canines with a need for speed can learn to ride a skateboard in their next series later this year.

“These courses are about having fun together, developing the bond between you and your dog, practicing and refining your training skills, and of course, about walking out the door with the coolest dog trick on the block!” says urban dog training expert and Founder of City Dog, Nicole Scott.

At first glance, it all seems like a bit of silly fun, but what lies beneath is learning the genuine skills for engaging with and stimulating our canine companions.

“So many of our clients love to spoil their dogs with material things but their dogs don’t care about that stuff, what they really want is mental stimulation – they want to play” says Nicole.“We’re teaching owners how to get engagement from their dogs, because engagement is the foundation for any and all dog training.”

The masterclasses are also great for kids who bore easily. “The skill is mastered quickly and they get to walk out the door with a trick they want to show off to all their friends,” says Nicole.

Before you start breaking out into a pant over a room full of barking dogs smashing iPads, the classes are held in small groups of six dogs with three trainers, so you and Fido will get all the individual treatment you need to master your new skill by the end of the class.

The first of City Dog’s Masterclasses is on 15th March at Studio Spaces in Shoreditch. The 90 minute session costs £150. More cool classes are planned for November including teaching your dog to ride a skateboard. Places are limited so vist to book now.
