The world’s biggest ever exhibition of cat art kicks off at the Cat Art Show in Los Angeles next week – scratch that!
For those of you who own cats, you will already know how they like to pose, preen and look generally adored. Not merely content with dominating the internet and youtube, cats are now firmly staking their claim in the world of art and culture, at the Cat Art Show, the world’s biggest ever exhibition of cat art launching in Los Angeles next week.
Pouncing off on the 25th January until the 2nd February, the show at 101/Exhibit Gallery on Santa Monica Boulevard, is featuring the work of over 70 artists including Tracey Emin, Gary Baseman, FAILE, Shepard Fairey and Ray Caesar. A percentage of sales are also being donated to the Stray Cat Alliance of Los Angeles.

But don’t go thinking this is all playful pussies and cute kitties – according to the organisers, the exhibition is both “a meditation and a celebration of the feline form that goes beyond heralding felines as domesticated companion, and instead explores their role as muse and inspiration.”
Well stick that catnip in your pipe and smoke it!
