All Dogs Matter Halloween Dog Costumes

Some seriously scary (but mostly hilarious) looking canines gathered in Hampstead last Sunday for the annual Spook-tacular All Dogs Matter Halloween Walk. Our kooky canine correspondent Amber Allen, The London PhoDOGrapher shares her photo highlights.

Halloween is a time for carving pumpkins, scaring the pants off people and dressing your dog up in hilarious costumes. Fact. And last Sunday’s Halloween Dog Walk in aid of London- based charity All Dogs Matter was a right spooktacular affair.

From a pug dressed as a spider to a staff as a pumpkin, and many motley mutts in-between, London’s most ghoulish gang of pooches (and people) gathered at the Spaniards in Pub in Hampstead to em-BARK on the annual charity walk across Hampstead Heath – much to the amusement and blood curdling horror of onlookers.

Following the walk, this ghastly group headed back to the pub to battle it out in the All Dogs Matter canine costume contest. Hilarity ensued as judges Peter Egan and ‘Barking Blonde’ Anna Webb welcomed dogs of all shapes and sizes, including rescue dogs that had been rehomed by All Dogs Matter – who of course drew the loudest cheers.

Apart from the spook-tastic time had by people and their pooches, the event was also to support the fantastic work done by All Dogs Matter. At the event was Daisy, a puppy mill survivor suffering with some serious disabilities who had been rescued earlier that week and. Unlike some rescues, All Dogs Matter doesn’t discriminate – they take the hard-to-home dogs like Daisy and invest a lot of time, money and love into turning them into adoptable dogs.

They are always grateful for donations but other ways to help are to foster, home-check or courier dogs for them, and to volunteer to help with fundraising and events.  And if you can’t do any of that, just come to the events!  They have some super dog-friendly activities throughout the year including the Halloween walk, the Valentine’s walk and plenty more. Find out more about the great work they do and how you can join in at: alldogsmatter.co.uk
