Petcube is set to be the smart and stylish solution for owners to watch, communicate and play with their pets while they’re out.
Every week some clever cookie launches another gizmo set to revolutise the pet world, however none which captured our attention quite like the Petcube. For many pet owners, leaving their pet alone while they’re at work or out and about is an unfortunate reality that results not only in a very unhappy pet, but a very guilty owner.
Looking for a solution for his Chihuahua, Rocky, Alex Neskin came up with the idea for the Petcube. The genius little gadget consists of a video camera, movable laser pointer and a microcomputer which is connected to the home wifi. This allows owners not only to watch their pets at home on their smartphone, but also to talk to them and play using the infamous little red dot!
Made using aluminim and glass for a sleek, minimal finish and with the option of customising it with stylish skins skins including animal print and faux cowhide, the Petcube has been also designed to compliment a cool, contemporary interior.
Having seen the pleasure his own friends took from watching and playing with Rocky via the Petcube, Alex has allowed owners to share access with friends, family and even the public, meaning that those that don’t own pets can still get their daily four-legged fix. Not only that, owners can also film pets and share their videos on social media for all to enjoy.
Currently still in devellopment, a prototype of the gadget was demoed at Seedcamp Week in Berlin recently, with the product set to be ready in late Summer, early autumn now.
