Jean-Charles Boiset is a genius. The proprietor of Raymond Wineries in the Napa Valley has united the two best things in the world to form an utterly magnifique union – dogs and wine!
It was only a matter of time before a dog started making wine and let’s be honest, it was always going to be a French Bulldog that commenced la révolution! Inspired by Frenchie, a gift from Jean-Charles to his wife Gina Gallo, Frenchie Winery is a haven for wine lovers who want to enjoy the delights of the Raymond Winery with their four-legged friend in tow. Merveilleux!
While you spend the afternoon getting tiddled, your pooch can enjoy the lavish Napa Valley lifestyle in the comfort of their own outdoor, shady dog suite, complete with their very own wine barrel bed. Above each kennel in the “Gallery of Frenchie” hang canvas portraits depicting Frenchie as historical icons including Julius Caesar and Marie Antoinette.
Outside, pups can stretch their legs in a play area over looking Frenchie’s bioDOGnamic vineyard and owners can keep an eye on their canine companions via Frenchie-cam in the main tasting room.
Dogs and owners can get in on the action together with in the Frenchie Winery tasting room designed with a special dog-friendly tasting bar that dispenses water and for owners, a small tasting bar where they can sample Frenchie’s wines including Napoleon a 2009 red, Louis XIV a Cabernet Sauvignon and Marie Antoinette a Chardonnay. Delightful.
