THE HISTORIC MASTERPIECE: St Pancras Renaissance Hotel
Is there a hotel as rich in history and as gloriously grand as the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in Kings Cross? Originally opened in 1873 as the Midland Grand and designed by Victorian architect George Gilbert, the hotel was re-opened in 2011 after a decade of pain-staking restoration. The Grade I listed building is now resplendent in it’s original gothic beauty and totally breathtaking both inside and out.
The Hotel’s facilities make the mind boggle. As well as their luxuriously appointed rooms, guests may also stay in the St Pancras Chambers, housed in the original Victorian hotel building. Not only do the suites retain their original charm with high ceilings, ornate mouldings and expansive windows, but you will also have a Butler on hand to cater to your every whim. I know, we die.
If you’re able to tear yourself away from your luxurious room for a moment, you can enjoy a treatment in their St Pancras Spa where you can take a dip in their complete Victorian tiled indoor pool or sip a cocktail in their decadent Booking Office bar and restaurant.
